Art Classes for Young Adults

Art Classes for Young Adults
Fridays 14h00 to 16h00
Cost: R60 per month (including materials)

The Tatham Art Gallery has an ongoing art educational programme. An art class for the youth runs every Friday afternoon during the school term for those who have not had the benefit of art tuition at school. Participants in this year’s art class have responded with enthusiasm, inspired by the exhibitions on display.

Recently, students from the art class worked on a mural painting at the new taxi rank opposite the Natalia building. This initiative was part of the outreach project of the Tatham Art Gallery in conjunction with the Building Section of the Municipality.

Students are urged to attend the Gallery’s developmental programmes such as Artists’ Forum, art workshops and artist-in-residence programmes.

Artists’ Forum

Lecture Theatre
Second Wednesday of each month 14h30 to 15h30

Artists are invited to meet on the second Wednesday  of each month to discuss art works they are currently creating. Together with an art educator they exchange their ideas and approaches to art mediums and techniques, and often resolve problems through collaborative discussion. Most participants consider this forum a constructive criticism platform, where they get feedback in a non-threatening environment
