Friends of the Tatham Art Gallery
2009 was a busy year for FOTAG. We had two successful Quiz evenings, each building on the strengths and weaknesses of the previous one. Our first Quiz this year will be on Thursday 11 March.
Our major project from 2009 was the Fabulous Picture Show, which from small and hotly debated origins elicited a fantastic response from artists across the province and beyond, both amateur and professional, for which we thank you heartily. The project brought in a profit for FOTAG in the region of R41 000, which will be used to buy artworks for the Gallery's permanent collection.
Another coup is the relationship between FOTAG and the Lunchtime Music Concerts, organized by Christopher Duigan and friends, which also brings a host of different visitors into the Gallery weekly. We thank FOTAG members for their continuous support, and hope that we can continue to bring in more dynamic events which broaden the attendance to the Gallery as well as raise funds for acquisitions.
