All artists need encouragement and guidance in order to gauge progress and development. To facilitate such an opportunity, the Gallery encourages aspiring and professional artists to meet and give each other constructive criticism, discussing technical abilities and responses to the artwork, in a comfortable, non-threatening environment.
In the past year artists from the Forum have been encouraged to bring their work once it is nearing completion. Feedback from the group at this stage often assists artists to complete their work in a more professional way.
The forums take place in the Gallery Lecture Theatre on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month. All practicing artists who would like feedback on their work are welcome to attend. As the Forums are informal, artists also share their expertise on the medium and techniques with other developmental artists.
The Artists' Forums have assisted many aspirant artists to forge networks and become art entrepreneurs.
