The death of Bonnie Ntshalintshali of AIDS in 1999 was a huge blow to all at Ardmore Ceramic Studio and to South African ceramics generally. Bonnie's death precipitated a concerted effort to confront the pandemic head-on through education and support of Ardmore artists. An aspect of this process has been the ongoing production of ceramics on the theme of HIV/AIDS, both as tributes to those who have died and as a continual reminder to all that vigilance is essential. This exhibition is a selection of works from the Ardmore collection.
